Back Home

I made it home safe and sound . . . It was nice of Zach to take me to the Salt Lake airport and drop me off. My flight was on time and the 2 hour trip was uneventful. I had to wait at the Portland airport for Mom and Anna to pick me up since I was about a half hour early getting in. On the drive home we stopped at Burgerville for lunch, I had a pepper bacon, Tillamook cheese burger and fries. I love the burgers there, they really know how to make a good one, it may be equally as good as a Benny Burger in its own way.

On Tuesday evening we took the horses out to the fair grounds to ride with the posse and Dustie did a good job once she got in her thinking mode. I really enjoy her lope because she is so smooth. I've been working on slowing her down at the trot and at the lope . . . she hasn't quite settled into that nice slow motion I want yet. We are going to do our drill routine again this summer and I really want Dustie to be able to participate so we've been working hard to get good control.

This Saturday evening we are going to help with the Bulls and Barrels at the fair ground. Last year I was one of the rakers and worked from behind the bull riders gate. It was fairly interesting working back there with all the bulls and the riders. They have a different mind set than most of us. It's a kick and we're looking forward to it.

  1. I'm so jealous you got to eat at Burgerville. :( I LOVE that place. They are just behind In-n-Out for me! I'm glad you made it home safe, Dad!
