New Mexico

I got some things done that Mom needed help with today. She is going to get rid of her king sized bed and bring back in the full size as soon as she gets a new mattress so I got her full size bed frame down from the top of the shop. I also got a huge box of Irish pictures down so she can start looking through them. I'd like to go through them too, but I don't have time this visit. I'll be flying out tomorrow evening to spend the weekend with Devin and Ryan and attend the Clinton Anderson clinic in Ogden. I did something I've been wanting to do for a long time now and that was to get rid of the switch box on the side of Mom's TV. I got all of her components connected directly to her TV and it's a whole lot cleaner now. Tomorrow before I leave I'll look to see if she has the right gear to receive digital signals come February.

  1. How did you get rid of that switch box? I could never figure out a) what it was for or b) how to get rid of it and still be able to have all her components connected to the television. Did she get a converter box for her TV?

  2. I figured out the switch box was to allow for more connections that most older televisions don't have, but the new TV that you helped Mom get has plenty of ports. I just had to use the correct ports for the DVD player and it all worked. It took a seperate wire set for the audio but it worked fine. Mom didn't get a converter box yet. I'm of the mind she doesn't need one because her new TV is digital. I'll be looking into it a bit today with the little time I have left here.
